Can anyone explain its ending plz?

where he jumped from the cliff... was he stupid, delusional or what??

reply

He lived for experiences. He was satisfied with the amount of experiences he had garnered in his lifetime and apparently wanted to experience suicide to test the boundaries of reality. That's what I got from it.

reply

That is a beautiful way to view it. I more or less agree with your thoughts.

reply

...wanted to experience suicide...

LOL !!! 

I think the ending has been deliberately left vague so that people can derive their own interpretations. That way, the film becomes more meaningful with the passage of time.

reply

As someone else has also mentioned, the ending is left to be interpreted by the viewer. These are my first thoughts. I am sure I will find more meanings as I think more about the film.

I think that with the main theme of the movie and its (brilliant) ending, the writer wants to encourage the viewers to lead an action-oriented life. The main theme is about not just passively going through the motions and about going out in the world and experiencing life your own way.

Similarly, with the ending, the writer wants to convey a call to action to the audience. If you listen carefully to the narration by Sudhir Mishra while he is falling, he says that he keeps getting this recurring dream where he is flying like a bird; while he is flying, the happiness that he experiences cannot be described in words.

We all have hopes and aspirations in life - some easily attainable, some not quite so. The writer wants us to jump off the cliff in pursuit of these dreams and aspirations, just like Bauji did. Then we will experience happiness that will be impossible to describe in words - a wondrous feeling.

Thanks dear

i thoroughly enjoyed the film but the end puzzled me

Thanks for solving it. your reply describes it so positively

I can so relate to the protagonist and his experiences

Absolutely loved the film

reply

The scene wanna convey that follow your dreams , no matter how bizarre / crazy it is . It doesn't encourage suicide at all but showing an extreme condition that to what extent one can really go an achieve .

reply

I don't think ending is literal. It's a metaphorical jump. Showing that he had taken the plunge.

reply

I'm not sure the film "encourages" anything. I just took it as a story about a man.
