Die making fun of the "french lady"

Ok, I live in Alberta which is very different from Quebec and Im not a Canadian, so I don't really understand French Canada feelings towards their own french heritage. Is this common, like Die making fun of the institute lady from the beginning? "she was a frenchie blah blah blah etc"and making fun of her accent, I found this culturally funny since I assume Die's character is french descendent (last name Després)
Any comments from Québécois people?

Its the same thing as Australians making fun of Brits, or South Americans making fun of people from spain. Sometimes people from France look down on people from Quebec because of our access. Just like Canadians making fun of people from Newfoundland!

Hope this helps.

That makes complete sense, thank you. I just didn't think the "french lady" could literally be from France. Thanks.

There are a lot of French expatriates in Québec nowadays, especially in Montréal.

Their french heritage is that they were abandoned in frozen saint jesus nowhere, all rich folks and gentry left for ffrance and they had to suckle on british cock to survive.
