Series Two

I've been looking forward to seeing the first episode of the second series, but it disappointed. Some of the situations seemed a bit too much like those in the first series, there was too much of Will the Intern, and the table-tennis sequence was just irritating.

I don't think we've seen the security man before and he freshened things up a bit. Nice to see the journalist/press officer from "Mr Selfridge" as the Royal equerry.

I agree the tennis sequence was annoying

So that's all good then. Right...

The fourth and last episode of the second series was disappointing, with the Sadiq Iqbal-beard theme not really working for me. The regular characters appeared and did their usual (repetitive) party-pieces, with Will Humphries now being annoying. I would have liked to have seen more of Simon Harwood, whose appearances were limited to arriving by bike and a far-too-brief involvement in the conferences.

Hugh Bonneville continued to give good value with his bemused reactions to his colleagues.

I wouldn't be bothered if there wasn't another series.

I thought Will finally came into his own in last episode, the great show idea, followed by "you're a genius, I love you from what's her name

I thought the second series ran out of steam and it was a short series. The Will bit at the end was sublime.

Its that man again!!

I am seriously considering using this episode as a framework for negotiating my office life:

1. I've mentally thought "hurrah!" every time someone comes up with an idea and it's a nice little uplift.

2. Siobhan is now my guru. I can't wait to try this out: "Am I right or am I right? I'M RIGHT."

The table-tennis sequence was absolutely inspired, but maybe you have to have been forced to attend a "team building" or "brain storming" workshop put on by PR to really appreciate it.

...or better still, run by a couple of 'semi-hippies' running a 'Team Building Coordination' firm, hired by HR...

Been there, done that.
