Killing Jesus- who was a Jew- Islamic actor, Hindu Scenery, Rome and Ceasar???

Throw in a Buddhist, a Mormon, and a Hari-Krishna- and it will All be covered. Wow. A Bit Obvious when Naming the show... I'll shock the masses into watching this silliness by appealing to base tricks by calling it "Killing" Jesus... The gods will be angry with this... At least he opposed the Taxes... Makes you wanna move to Sodom or Ghamorrah. Don't think or look to deep into this one. More entertainment with Less religion, teaching, or factual basis. I didn't really have a problem with it- as it was more amusing and curious to see the contradiction and attempts to feather in insecurities and personal agendas, of man today- through a story attached to Roman Empire- ? National Geo? Really? Treat it like a Saturday Night Live Skit- and you should be fine.

What's wrong with having a Muslim actor play Our Lord?

Mel Gibson got a Jewish actress to play Our Lady in TPOTC.

Totus Tuus O Maria!!! Totus Tuus O Jesu!!!!

Mary would have been Jewish anyway. Jesus was a Jew. All the disciples were Jewish. Christians didn't become "christian" until after Jesus died.

Yes, but, Jews don't believe in Him anymore. Muslims venerate Him as a Prophet(though they do not believe in His Passion, Death, and Resurrection).

Christians didn't become "christian" until after Jesus died.

Actually, they didn't become "Christian" until after the Resurrection.

Nothing at all wrong with having a Muslim actor in the role of Jesus. At least he is of a similar ethnicity, and the Muslims revere Jesus as a prophet, although not a major one, and not as the Son of God.
And, I thought Maia Morgenstern was so effective in the role of Mary His Mother, in the Passion of the Christ. Her actions during the Way of the Cross often brought me to tears. In her own way, Morgenstern's Mary was an active participant in Jesus' Passion. She participated in it, suffering along with her Son, but also strengthening Him with her eyes. When she attempted to wipe up the blood after the scourging, she broke my heart. I found the casting of a Jewish actress so apt.

Mel Gibson's film was the closet thing to an S&M snuff film.

reply

... only if you watched the film because you enjoy snuff films, and your intention was to look at it for the cruelty. Gibson's intention was to portray the suffering that Jesus endured as Christians believe, in recompense for the sins of humanity. In reality the sufferings of flogging and crucifixion were even worse than portrayed in the film.

There is no way in hell the torture that Gibson portrayed in TPOC could be survived by anyone. But it seems Gibson has a special place for torture as a fetish. Braveheart also has a scene where gibson is restrained ,stretched out and Disemboweled while still alive. He really is a freak.

Nope, it was possible to be alive and able to witness one's own disembowelment. Read history; it was done to some of the martyrs on both sides during the reign of Henry VIII Tudor. If one has a problem with facts, it's best not to watch movies where these things are portrayed. Man's cruelty to man has no equal.
