I don't know if i want to pay to see this in cinema

How terrible is it? Is it worth the ticket? I adored the first film but i just don't know from what i'm hearing about this one.

Its a natural continuation of the first one, although it largely repeats the plot, however it is more stylish and kinetic. Plus you get to see Elastigirl using her full range. Very worthwhile theater viewing.

If I had known what was in store, I definitely would have stayed home. This has none of the style, charm or danger of the original (which was my favorite movie of all time). The trailers cover everything, pretty much. And all the baby superpowers are covered better in the featurette Jackjack Attack. There are several sub plots (some are quite important) that the film never redeems. Constant screaming and yelling over a basic Scooby Doo plot. I will just enjoy the original and pretend this one never happened.

It's not a terrible film by any stretch. A little conventional and the villain not nearly as good but it has some solid action and comedy.

Have a short review of this movie if anyone is interested- https://youtu.be/Bs5GTpsCmR8

lol, i love the idea of putting an apology at the start for taking so long, that is why i love Bird.

reply

I don't remember an apology. I remember Brad and the voice actors giving a bunch of excuses ('It takes a long time to animate a cartoon') - Really????

reply

It was more of a "thank you for your patience" intro

reply

Oh, ok, still funny XD

reply

LOL all the kids who remember seeing the original are adults by now.

reply

And they will be middle aged when the 3rd one comes out.

reply

yeah, it seemed like an apology/thank you for your patience. that kinda thing

reply

Yeah that's what it was pretty much. And yeah it was entertaining but my eyes rolled when they said it takes a long time to animate...

reply

Yes Craig, it's not terrible but it is certainly mediocre. And who wants to see a mediocre Incredibles?

reply

It's fantastic and definitely worth seeing in cinemas.

reply

It's definitely not as good as the first one but still enjoyable and a worth while cinema watching experience.

reply

I never really expected it to live up to the original, that would be to ask for a bit much i feel, decent is all i crave.

reply

Yeah, same. The first one is my all time favorite animated film, I watched it a dozen times at least. Been waiting for a sequel for years and as it came close, I feared that it might disappoint, Thankfully, it didn't.

reply

Its not terrible at all but your choice of words tells me your too pesimistic to enjoy the film so I'd suggest you not bother. If you actuall had intention to see the film.

reply

No, i'm sure i can keep my mind open despite bad reviews, if it's good i won't have a problem enjoying the film.

reply

It's not as good as the first one. I'd rate the second a decent 7.5/10. Maybe push it to 8/10 tops

It's not bad but not really that good tbh. Several puzzling things abound -
- they have a third kid but *now* they're finding out parenting is hard and stressful?
- they should know Jack Jack will have powers given their other 2 kids
- too much of this feminism type agenda these days. I'm a very liberal guy but it is very grating now
- the whole villain and plot was goofy and stupid tbh. Just put some goggles and that's it?

Overall, it's not really as good as the first one. But you should watch it, if not in theater, then at home later. There's no rush really to watch it in theater imo. Even the jokes/situations are forced ("why did they change math" etc.) and a little out of date now.

reply

It premiers in my country in august so i have time to think about it. I agree feminism has gone way overboard though and is sadly ruining much of popular culture. Hopefully it's a trend that eventually goes away.

reply

If you don't want to pay...don't pay. The movie is good, but I don't see what the quandary is.

reply

I don't know if i want to pay, that is why i'm asking for opinions.

reply

Incredibles 2 is certainly worth the ticket - especially if you have kids. Not because your kids will like it, which they will, but because how it deals with parents having kids. That writing is as good as the first film, as can be indicated by how many times my daughter poked me or we looked at each other at the same time during a viewing at the theater.

reply

That is sweet :-)
