Bad writing.

Seriously, what was the motive for these 2 girls actions?
They lure him into the bedroom and **** him, whilst he is under the impression they are of age....
The next day they lie and tell him they are actually under 18....(Why, I have no idea)
So, for the rest of the film we are led to believe that they are punishing him for apparently being a pedophile.
But at the end, they reveal that they actually ARE of age so.....Why did they do it?
It's not like he thought they were under age and did it anyway, he thought they were old enough!

Sure, the guy cheated on his wife but why would the 2 girls give a sh!t about that?
What was their motives for doing all of that sh!t?

No sense whatsoever.....a normal person with a beautiful house, full of nice things with kids and a wife...would've handed these two girls a towel, called uber and left them outside to wait! But then no movie....lol! And apparently from the scripted lines from the two psycho bitches later on...if he'd have said no they might, just might have gone away! Because they said......" No one ever says No!"
But as you said it just wasn't laid out too well! I had a very, hard time getting any real feelings for that family at all!! Mostly because the actors had absolutely no rapport with each other or charisma for that matter... it was all very detached and forced! Had they been a lot more convincing in the beginning of the film perhaps and only perhaps... it would've made me care more what was going on later!
Sorry Keanu I've been a big fan in the past but this just wasn't a good move on your part, I hope we see you in something much better soon!

I just watched this on Hulu, and I think you have the bad writing wrong. The dialogue is where the bad writing takes place. The motivation is clear enough. These girls get their kicks this way. You can't explain fun with logic.

I don't think the motivation is clear at all.
Like I said, at first we are led to believe that they are punishing him for having sex with underage girls.....But they weren't underage.
So, there is no logic for their actions.

The film would have made more sense if they actually were underage.
It just isn't believable to me that these 2 girls would do this to someone for literally no reason at all.

Why him? Why them?
Maybe just one girl on her own would have made more sense because she could have been a crazy girl with a crush.
But 2 girls, both as dumb as each other, both deciding to ruin this mans life for no reason at all?

It just doesn't work for me.
He thought they were of age and they were.....So, he isn't a pedophile and didn't deserve any of it.

this movie just as with the original one REALLY REALLY have to be taken lightly. do not take them serious and even for the acting for that matter.. if you watched the original with mr. cassel you would see that was more un intenionally hilarious than anything else and the girls then had the same un realistic just plain movie fantasy motives/ goals that just don't make any sense but to top it off would likely never happen. not saying women can't rape men but not in scenerios such as this.

the only slight differences which you could simply maybe put down to particular acting difference styles was mr. cassel played the role more down right agitated and impatient where as keanu came off as being more bewildered and confused so when he did amp it up a bit and started to get angry he came off as being more funny than anything.

the first movie seemed way over the top goofy but suppose got to remember it was made in 1975 as well. I liked it as I liked what eli roth done with this one. it had the same elements only was revamped for 40 years later, hey it even had one of the original girls back in it even if she was playing a different character. so can't complain at all there.

I say, just watch these movies for a laugh for than anything.

reply

I was not even aware this was a remake...What is the original called?

reply

well unless you ask mr. roth he might say it is based on a few movies. but the main one it got its primary ideas and traits off was death game (1977). you can say it is really a remake of that over all. sondra locke was genesis and colleen camp was bel in relation to the remake.

story is identical.

reply

Exactly! The "bad writing" is intentional, as was the comedy.

reply

I can't knock the film (no pun intended) for being entertaining.
As dumb as it all was, I still had fun watching it.

They're claiming to be underage as a method of keeping him from calling the cops. If you watched the movie, it's quite clear. Perhaps you should watch next time instead of playing candy crush. I love it when morons who can't follow simple plotting run to the message boards and start complaining of "bad writing" and "plot holes" because they're too stupid to understand what's going on.

reply

This movie was garbage, no idea what Eli was thinking.

reply

He was thinking he wanted to remake Death Game.

reply

The motivation is very clear. They are trying to target cheaters and ruin their lives. They find a family guy and wait for the right moment, put him through a test, if he fails they torture him this way. They say they are underage to prevent him from instantly calling the cops.

Not saying it's a good plot, but they did explain the game.

reply

Couldn't have said it better myself. Wow, someone who actually WATCHED and understood simple plotting.

reply

Oh shut up, you little bitch lol.
This was not a complicated film. I understood it.
Their motivations were stupid and unbelievable.
Stop getting angry at people online just because they didn't like the same sh!tty film that you did!

There is a reason this film has a score lower than 5.
It's a bad film and you if you like it, you have bad taste in film.
Deal with it.

reply

The movie was just not believable at all. The excuses given for him not escaping the girls several times throughout the movie were just unbelievable. I haven't commented on a movie in ages but this one was so bad it forced me to log back into IMDB after all these years just to give it a rating of 1.
