A females opinion: "It is a Movie about a mans fantasy"...WTF?

I watched this based on a lady friend who said she "was watching a movie about a mans fantasy.......". She is a feminist and I've watched her double standards for years.

Mans fantasy?:

What a load of *beep* Evan never had a fantasy of this, he never asked for any of it. In fact he resisted down the line and said "NO" to the offer of sexing the two psychopathic women. He didn't want to have sex with them or have his life ruined by the devious psychos.

My message to my feminist friend: If a man or two men pushed themselves on a woman as these two did and the woman said "No" and yet they went ahead anyway and had sex with her, or she complied out of pressure?: RAPE....pure and simple.

No means no....right? Oh only when it is a woman, not when it is a man or a boy. (In fact sometimes yes means no because a woman is in an awkward position?) Not to mention all the other things they did to terrorize this guy.

But that is how many women view this situation. The double standards and lack of ethics or rational thought by some women never ceases to entertain.

reply

He definitely didn't want it at first but in the shower scene he could of just give them there clothes and said no and left but to be fair who wouldn't say no, but the fact they where looking for a guy who would say no and that mover guy did just that, they still killed him by taking his asthma thing away.

reply

i agree that with a woman it would be consider sexual assault and people don't see it that way when a man says no and gives in. however, what man is gonna go to the cops and say i was raped. he will most likely be too embarrassed and would be worried he would be made fun of.

now let's say he gave in and never said no and banged those 2 girls with no problem, men would wanna give him a high five. if a married woman did that and just gave in she would be considered a slut. yeah i think the double standards issue is sh!t.

reply

No a married woman would be a victim of rape. That is my point.
Men need to go to the cops. Made fun of? Thats the problem. The assumption that every man wants to be raped is wrong. Maybe in the old days or for guys who can't get women.

The assumption that every man wants to have two women at the same in BS.
I have never thought that, I have had plenty, but one at a time is enough.

reply

I'm saying i agree with u.

reply

Why would all men give him a high five, when he's cheating on his wife? Do you assume all men are in favor of other men cheating on their wives, or that all men are in favor of cheating?

I think when women say this kind of thing, they're talking about men in TV and movies, not men in real life.

I choose to believe what I was programmed to believe

So when he's tied to a bed and raped?

Never mind. You'll find a way to weasel an excuse for the innocent women.

Let's be honest here, Keanu probably wouldn't have let two men come in to dry off. It was his own fault for letting two strangers in most likely because it was two beautiful women. Not that I wouldn't have done the same thing .

Two strange men would have presented the prospect of a more immediate physical threat to him.

Having said that, using pretty women to gain entrance to a home for follow-up by thugs is a well-known ploy to those who are crime savvy. So he was still an idiot.

If two youngish, harmless-looking young men were caught in the rain and asked, with apparent sincerity, if they could dry off and check directions for where they wanted to go, I probably would consider letting them in. Maybe that makes me an idiot; I don't know. But I'd certainly assess whether they seemed potentially dangerous before I let them into my house.

But back to the scenario that was presented to us, what if Evan had turned the women away and found out later on that they'd been attacked by a stranger simply because he hadn't taken the opportunity to be a kind Samaritan?

Did IQs just drop sharply while I was away?

The whole point of feminism is to treat both genders equally, with no double standards.

Which means that if the same thing had happened with swapped genders, the conclusion would have been the same: the first night started off as sexual harassment but ended with voluntary sex. The moment they went down on him, it was obvious he enjoyed it. And he went on to have full sex with them willingly - he admits it in the "free pizza" speech.

The second night, where they tied him to the bed and filmed him, that was rape.

This is just flat out not true.

reply

Why?

reply

Why is something not the way someone says it is? Kinda hard to answer that...

But it just isn't. It even has "fem" meaning women in it. Clearly it's about empowering women. Not saying that's a bad thing but let's not pretend feminists fight for men's rights when the equality is leaning on that side of things.

You'd never think the White Power movement is about equality would you? No it's clearly about empowering white people.

Feminism is about empowering women, nothing more.

reply

OK, I needed a clarification because I couldn't tell what your opinion on the subject is. Apparently you think feminism wants women to become more powerful than men, that feminists hate men etc, right? That's not true. It's called FEMinism because it's women who are - yes, they STILL are - treated as inferior to men and it's mainly women who need empowerment in order to reach gender equality. Feminists don't want women to be considered superior to men. They want both genders to be treated equally and they care about men's rights (and every gender in-between) as well.

reply

A lot of generalizations in your reply.

And just so we're clear:

Apparently you think feminism wants women to become more powerful than men, that feminists hate men etc, right?

Never said that.

I simply stated that the word 'feminism' doesn't necessarily mean equality. It might be what you want it to mean but it's not what it is. There are all sorts of feminists who simply want females to be more empowered for the same of empowerment and they can still call themselves feminists. I'm not knocking it but you seem to think I am.

On a side note, I'd be curious in what way women are treated inferior to men.

Although I don't think this is the right place to start a conversation on feminism and gender equality... are you seriously curious??? You are saying you can't think of any way women are treated inferior to men??? I won't even talk about the situation of women in the Middle East, where they are hardly treated as human being. Even in the West civilizations, women are constantly slut-shamed and generally criticized based on their sexuality, they get less money for the same amount of work men do (yes, the wage gap is very, very real), the percentage of women in professional positions of great responsibility (CEOs, managers, politicians, etc.) is much lower than men's and there are so many more examples left. No, just because women can work and vote right now, doesn't mean we have reached equality.

parvati:

That's so true, yet men like the one above don't get or understand that, or even try to understand feminism, which a lot of both men and women don't understand at all, and have a really distorted idea of what it means.

Anyway, I caught the original film DEATH GAME years ago on TV one night, and thought it was stupid and horrible, and the ending was lame as hell. Apparently, the story was supposed to be entirely different, but a new director was put in place, and he changed the film to the point where he, the cast and the crew clashed over how it was supposed to be done, and in the end, nobody liked it, not even the main actors. There's more about it here:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0075921/?ref_=nv_sr_1

Saw parts of the remake, and it still didn't make any sense--maybe I need to watch it again. I still thought it was ridiculous and over the top. I mean, it's basically just an exploitation film written and directed by men with some weird ideas about women, that's all. Not that big a deal, but I have to admit the ending was a little funny, in a sick way. It's interesting that Locke, who starred in the original produced the remake---mainly because she's never liked how the original turned out.

I've never had a fantasy where I said no. I've never had a fantasy where I have ear-splitting feedback played into my ears, or get buried up to my neck, either...

Nope... he WANTED to have sex with them and infact DID. If there were 2 men in the same situation and the woman wouldn't WANT to have sex with them and infact DIDN'T, then it's rape.

I guess you didn't understand this movie or you're just some woman hating guy who talks out of his ass.

And I'm a guy by the way.

reply

I agree with your friend. Up to the middle of the film.

It's more like a man's nightmare but maybe it's about facing fears to some... because honestly I don't think Keanu Reeves in thirty year acting career ever played a married man with children before. In this film he fights Satanist Vigilantes administering their own kind of justice, and most actors working with this role, I think they would deal with the lust component. But Mr Reeves for him to play this role maybe it's more about facing fears about child rearing... Because the wrong thing he did, if you were a thirty year acting veteran, excluding child acting, and you never played a married with children type of character before, it stands out like a sore thumb.

But he's scared. The married director is scared. These women in the movie were spying on him, put Satanic spells on him, and then they went after him in such a manner that it's going to be tough to say no but afterwards the future is compromised forever.

If it was a male fantasy these issues wouldn't be related to systematic abuse. The movie is more along the lines of that song 'Hotel California' than a male fantasy film.

The women in this movie are 'watcher' type people watching him on surveillance cameras and due to ties with law enforcement, they may even feel above the law... but they are watching him and plotting him because he looks like a good family man but they were abused and they think that if they get him to cheat that will justify their generalizations. And they think they are better than the people that did it to them because they will leave him alone and let him heal. But they are still going to be watching him and who knows what they are going to do.

The unfortunate message to the male population is not copulation but rather think twice if it's this easy because it could lead to a 'Hotel California' type situation but now maybe more along the lines of right beyond what can be seen... because they're not really leaving him alone if they're watching him... they might get buddies to harass him. or they may have intentions of leaving him alone but since they are watching him technically they are not already and then they might see him again. What made it seem so easy for them to walk in there and do what they did to him was a lot of emotional planning but it's not going to be easy to walk away from the emotional investment and the way the world is today these are points men keep in mind for their safety, their sanity, and health, wealth and pursuit of happiness.

Honestly, if you watch the beginning of the movie, when they are all talking, the two women are programming the married man to accept abuse. Accept unreasonable conditions by the nature of the conversing... just entertaining silly notions. Or when they are dumb they got to you think dumber than them. They might start off with a wrong point and then make correct points. But the things he's agreeing to based on desire and also just natural social conventional kindness, that mixture, is his acceptance of male abuse moving forward.

This is not the average ordinary man's fantasy. That would more along the lines of two hot babes come to your house and you have unsolicited no strings free materially and metaphysically and you had the time of your life and yeah you to soften the blow 'peed' in both of them but with a hat on so you're not scared for the next three weeks out of your mind and then they left and whatever they were doing anyway, is what kept them from showing up and bothering you. This is what men desire. If your friend ever becomes a film maker or wants to have group sex with her boyfriend or spouse, these are points to keep in mind to make the experience more pleasing and enjoyable for the man. This could be pretty scary. But I think women have similar fantasies... about men needing to be touched so well that that one aspect is kind enough that we can ignore their humanity, their mental condition and quite frankly debase them with no cost to ourselves or them... because quite frankly for instant gratification which is the pressure of sexual pleasure, it could work better if we could get that but we can't. But a woman would be better off trying with that dude than men are with the chicks in this movie and that is kind of unfair to men but at least there are attractive women in it and that is more important to us collectively.... at that level.

Some women watch this movie and have that keanu reeves fantasy taht they could just bang him and get him to leave but in reality if two people are on an ego trip like that, like just because i touched you and you needed touch so much I am great, by nature of ego or pride one of them or both may accept or expect more loyalty from the other... like warming them up too much that there would be a problem, but the fueling of ego can be dangerous. At the least it should be about something, like a desire to be a better person, not ego, in these situations because then you can't expect to walk or even be able to walk later on.

Women get more from men in the film and it's warping your friend's senses.
