Sure these chicks (who were probaly raped and abused by male sadists in the past) may of walked away after their sick game aqainst their current victim, but they may have overlooked one thing, the wife. Most artists tend to have a open mind, and she would probaly believe her husband and go on a warpath toward the crazy chicks who deepely damaged her family (also her house and art collection).

They may have gotten away for a few days, but I think the law would have caught up to them. They obviously did this to other guys in the past, and it would have left a trail for the cops to follow.
I think Karen would have been okay with it once she knew that he did not seek the girls out, which would have been obvious enough once the dead body was found in the van and Keanu was tied up and buried up to the head in the backyard with a cell phone in front of him. That just screams set up.
