Fans of this show must LOVE "knock-knock" jokes.

Carell must be calling in favors(or blowing someone) to keep this infantile nonsense on the air.

The head of comedy at TBS is Carell's friend and the former head of his company. From what I read, other networks passed on this script and for once they were right. A poor, derivative parody.

Honestly this show peaked at the pilot, after that it has gone down hill. This show is trying SO HARD to be like the Naked Gun movies that it falls flat on it's face and fails miserably. Leslie Nielsen must be rolling in his grave right now.

Forgot to mention that I only watched up to episode 4 on Hulu. I don't know how this show actually got a second season.
