I loved it

Even though it's mostly talk and talk, the script was well written and the movie kept me interested the whole time. The leads have great chemistry together.

I agree. It was mostly talk. 95% of it was at the house location, but they did a nice job of making it feel like it wasn't just 1 location. (kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, outside by the pool, front yard, roof, etc...). That made it feel "bigger", which kept it from feeling claustrophobic. (I've seen a couple movies where it is just two people in one location talking for 90 minutes. Those are two of the most boring movies I've ever seen in my life. One took place in an elevator. The other was a hotel room or something.)

I really enjoyed the chemistry between the two main actors. I'll watch pretty much any comedy that Pally is in. And the lead actress was very good. She was very convincing.

I think I ended up giving it a 7/10 on here. Definitely worth a watch if you are already paying for Netflix.

I agree, it was pretty great. I especially liked the fiery young actress.

I really enjoyed it too. Terrific performances all around, and some real chemistry between the two leads.

There's a scene near the end that I thought was really well-done. Kevin and Maddie are sitting on opposite sides of a couch, facing away from the camera, with the fireplace right in the middle of the shot. At this point, it's clear that both of them will get exactly what they wanted out of this night: for Kevin, career advancement, and for Maddie, another shot with Will.

The characters should be happy, but they have finally realized that their victories are as empty as the the fireplace -- that big, black square right in the middle of the shot.

Two things impressed me about it. First, it was a good way to convey exactly what was going on in the characters' heads without explaining it. Heck, we couldn't even see their faces.

Second, it was an effective way to make the most out of the one film location they had.

I also quite liked it. And even though it was mostly a comedy, I felt like there were some nicely sharp moments, such as when she says that when she was unconscious if they had told him to drive her to an ER and shove her out of the car, he totally would have done it. And he doesn't say anything because it's true.

I like that both characters had more to them than it seemed. The part where they keep revising the number of people they've slept with is a great reflection of their characters--he doesn't want to appear to be a loser, she doesn't want to be judged as a slut. Both of them had unhealthy relationships with Will based more on what they desired (a coaching job; a mutually loving relationship) than the reality. Pally's character's heartbreak when he finds out about the bribery is a nice moment, as is the scene where they discuss suicide on the roof.

Ultimately I felt like some of the more slapstick moments in the first act weren't necessary. That and the Hale character (love Tony Hale, thought the character was very funny) gave the movie a goofier tone in the beginning. I liked the darker, more melancholy tone that the movie took on around the halfway mark.
