Comparison between Black Jesus and the Trailer Park Boys

These two shows have a lot of similarities, i.e, both are about growing dope, getting high as f!ck, keeping the same landlord without having the current one fired and so on.

Here's my list of characters from Black Jesus that identify with the Trailer Park Boys' characters.

Jesus = Julian
Fish = Bubbles
Boonie = Ricky
Trayvon = Cory
Vic = Lahey
Lloyd = Randy
Tudi = Barb
Maggie = Trinity (if she had grew up to do greasy stuff like her father)
Diane = Lucy

This show is a pretty sweet deal for TPB fans who want more of the same by Mike Clattenburg because the Seasons 8-10 from TPB are just.. *sigh*.

There's also the joke about not being able to cut off a piss stream.

It's been a while since I saw the show, so I can't really comment on the character by character comparisons. The Charlie Murphy character did remind me a lot of Jim Lahey, though.

Vic on Season 2 (Episode 3 - False Witness) thought Jesus was a terrorist and tried to take him on himself. That was very Lahey too (Lahey tried to murder Ricky and even threatened to explode himself in front of Ricky).
