Oh how I long to see this.

I do hope the BBC w/Canal+ will pick it up with
subtitles. BBC already has and awesome series dealing with WWI nurses.

Thanks for the heads up about this series - I love foreign language films so I will be watching this. Did you ever see Days of Honor? This was a Polish WW2 drama series (7 seasons). The best WW2 series I have seen since Secret Army - back in the 1970/80s. You might also like my new WW2 book: The Armageddon Pact. Thanks.

Absolutely loved Czas honoru!! Bought the dvd's from ebay with english subtitles.

Also, Un village français (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1288631/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1) is very, very good!

The Lars Rainer character was just superb. Favourite bit had to be the little hop skip and a jump he did to his drinks cabinet. It was one of those rare series that just got better and better. Where they got those Panther tanks from in series 7 I have no idea.

confused as there was only one series and who is Lars Rainer???

Yes, "Resistance" is on Channel4 UK now on their OnDemand offerings. What a great series!

Now, if I could only manage to see all the series of "French Village" about the World War II denizens of the same, I would be happy.

MHZ in America has shown it in fits and starts (I cut the cored, so no more DVR box to record it when it pops up), but they don't seem to offer it on their subscription pay service, and when they did for about 5 minutes, each episode was more expensive than my Netflix monthly sub. Ugh.

It's on Youtube some, but not with English subs.

"Resistance" and "French Village" (starring the luscious "Josephine" from "Engrenages") is a great two-fer on world war two France....

Agree both series are excellent.. I think A French Village is better because it has a lot more time to develop characters and plot. Also, the actors are less glamorous and look more like real people.

By the way, A FRENCH VILLAGE Season 1 (12 episodes) is available on DVD for purchase and it's worth it.
