Awful
Just watched the first episode of Chasing Shadows, it was truly awful.
shareI fell asleep at it. Had the feel of a really cheap production.
shareIt's The League of Not-so-Extraordinary Wire in the Blood with a handful of cast-offs from Doctor Who.
shareI'm only about half way through it, but I like it so far.
shareIt's not awful, it's just your average ITV police drama. Made for easy-watching, relaxing end of week viewing.
It's rare for them to be amazing. What were you expecting?
Agreed.
shareI was expecting lots of hookers. If the news says police are stepping up activity on hookers that's a sign we should be seeing more of them on TV shows.
Maybe I'm onto something here, a reality show where all they do is follow around hookers doing tricks and getting harassed by police.
I'm normally a big fan of Reece Shearsmith, but his characterisation of an Aspergers/autistic policeman was totally crass, lacking in subtlety and depth. From the buttoned up shirt/anorak look, to the fact that every line was classic "autism", this was unwatchable. Stopped watching after 40 minutes and cancelled the Series Link on the TIVO.

I'm the same. I've paid a lot of money to see him live before and even after this I would still count myself as a fan. This was unutterably terrible though. I really wish that he would do something different and not be a murderer in everything...gah. Alex Kingston was wooden as well like others above I cancelled the series link after 1 episode. Sad
Do the *beep* snow angel, Dude!, Do the *beep* snow angel!
So far, it kind of reminds me of a sh!t version of Monk.
- We could be men with ven!
I thought it picked up considerably tonight. The 2nd episode was very good IMO.
shareThe 2nd episode won me. It just needs a little less overacting by the lad playing Alex's red headed son.
