A Zombie Apocalypse without Zombies

In the last episode we saw maybe two Zombies. And they were barely relevant. In this one, there were none.

I understand that the show doesn’t need to follow the game, but this is ridiculous.

As far as writing goes, this is a good show. But it is not what we were promised.

reply

Yeah, I don’t understand it. It’s a zombie apocalypse and there are no zombies. Just odd

reply

It reminded me of I Am Legend.

reply

In I am Legend, they couldn’t come out during the day. But, at night, they were everywhere.

Even then, I felt the tension throughout the film.

I didn’t get anything in Episode 3, and only got some in the second half of Episode 4.

reply

Play the game for that.

reply

Or the writers can do their jobs and actually put Zombies in this show. As it was promised.

reply

There is a new Transformers movie coming. Maybe that is more for you than this.

reply

No I am not a fan of Transformers. They are too silly and childish.

I want good writing and good stories.

I also want for a Zombie series to have Zombies. A show should deliver what was promised. Maybe that is a difficult concept for you.

MY DAUGHTER JUST SAW A LOVELY FILM ABOUT A CROCODILE THAT TAKES A BATH...YOU MIGHT LIKE IT.🙂

reply

Not my style. I like adult stuff. But, by all means, knock yourself out.

AWESOME.🙂

You're just too demanding! Next you'll be wanting your cheeseburger to have meat and cheese on it!!

reply

But that’s the thing. They’re NOT zombies. But infected mutants who didn’t die but just mutated.

reply

There is a new gay porno coming out soon. Maybe you should watch it after this.

reply

Whatever floats your boat but no thanks.

reply

Some TikTok and MrBeast videos will probably calm you down.

reply

I love the childish responses I’ve been getting. Lol!

Apparently expecting Zombies in a Zombie series is too much.

reply

But there are zombies. Just because it's a post apocalyptic series with zombies doesn't mean that the focus is on constant zombie action. And that's a good thing because the game already covered that.

reply

This is supposed to be an adaptation of the game. If it’s going in a different direction, it shouldn’t be called “The Last of US.”

reply

It's an adaptation, not a shot for shot remake. Besides, this is the first episode with no zombies, and that's because the much bigger threat of humans were front and center in this one.

reply

How exactly is it going in a different direction? Sure there are some changes but overall the story is ufolding just like in the game. If all you got from the game was killing zombies I don't think you understood what was the heart of the game.

reply

SPOILERS!

It is definitely not unfolding like the game. For starters, when they meet up with Bill, he is still alive and they have to face a Bloater.

I understood the game. I know that it is more than just Zombies. But even when the Zombies were not the principal threat, there was always the tension and fear of them.

I am not getting any of that here.

reply

"It is definitely not unfolding like the game. For starters, when they meet up with Bill, he is still alive and they have to face a Bloater."

Like I said there are some changes, but those changes don't affect the main story or Joel and Ellie's journey which is the most important aspect of the game/plot.

"I am not getting any of that here."

Well, what can I say, you can't please everyone. I hope you like it better as it goes on.

reply

but they're not zombies

reply

There were long sections of the game with no infected.

reply

There was no Apocalypse in Apocalypse Now, yet the movie has achieved epic and historical status

reply

Yeah that what I thought when they entered Kansas in episode 4. And those random people showed up with their boring problems. I thought : 'Oh no, here we go. Now its turning into Walking Dead where they had constant conflict among group of people and zombies was just a backgound noise".

That is just boring.

reply

Also - where did all zombies went? Did they all get extinct over 20 years? There should be millions upon millions of them wandering around. Yet Joel and Ellie were driving for hours with no one zombie in sight. They entered a big city with no walls and zero zombies in sight and people walking freely and attack outsiders because they are bored.

At this point people can just come out of quarantine zones and start rebuilding civilization. Open factories, make products.

reply

Exactly. Boston is overrunned by Zombies, but Kansas City is Zombie free?

It doesn’t make sense.

Zombie makeup costs a hell of alot. If the show producers had to pay for the makeup then they would have to forgo money for hookers.

Just so you people know, the makeup for having a fungus bloom on the actors head is much more expensive that the actual zombie's makeup of The Walking Dead. The Walking Dead could not hardly afford the simple zombie makeup and therefore had many shows without any zombies or hardly any zombies.

Also the full bloom fungus clickers are actually genuinely gross to most people to the affect that people do not want to watch this show because they are grossed out by this. I have played the game and I was not fully grossed out by the fungus bloom because the PS3 graphics ain't that good. I will probably never watch this show because it is gross.
