A major character of the show is killed and we find out he's alive through someone saying he made a phone call to say he was alive, without the audience even hearing the phone call. No voice + no visual = no pay actor! They pass the savings on to you.

In the very next scene with the whole fam down by the water planning their futures together, Alex says, My boss, Sam, he survived the explosion and called me on my way back from Pensylvania.. But he called him at the vet's the moment after he let Christoph walk out the door .. Oh well.. Great series up until the last 3 minutes of the last episode ..
