I don't believe this:

It's disgusting that the trailer to the upcoming 2020 remake of the film West Side Story can't even be watched without streaming or downloading. What gives here? I'd at least like to see the trailer so I'll have an even better reason for not going to see Spielberg's reboot/remake of this great, golden oldie-but-keeper of a classic movie-musical.

reply

The trailer's out? Already?

reply

I wasn't able to see it, because it could only be streamed, and I don't especially feel that streaming these things online is especially secure. I'm not especially interested in seeing the upcoming re-make of the 1961 film West Side Story, but I hope it comes onto Youtube soon, so I can see the trailer. I don't care for remakes of these older films, generally, but at least I'll having something a bit more solid to base my point of view on.

The movie is supposed to be released 5 months from now, and I can't find the actual trailer on YouTube. I'm surprised.

Hi, StrongRex. We'll have to see what happens. There've been some rather serious allegations against Ansel Elgort, the guy who's supposed to be playing the role of Tony in Spielberg's upcoming reboot/remake of the film West Side Story. He's been accused of sexual assault, and more than one underaged girl has come forward about him. Nobody knows if Spielberg's reboot/remake of the film West Side Story will be released on schedule (i e. December 18th, 2020), or delayed for awhile. There are people calling for Ansel Elgort's replacement, as well. Imho, however, at this point in time, it's more than likely to replace Elgort and reshoot even parts of the movie, much less the whole thing.

I'll also add that the allegations that were placed against Ansel Elgort have stiffened my resolve to vote my pocketbook and personally boycott (inotherwords, not to go and see) Spielberg's reboot/remake of the film West Side Story As insensitive as this may sound, the best thing for Disney/Fox to do would be to release the film as it is, and let it fall on its face.

Hi again, StrongRex. The trailer for Steven Spielberg's 2021 film version of West Side Story is now out. You and everybody else can see it now. I saw it recently, and it stiffened my resolve NOT to see Steven Spielberg's film version of West Side Story when it comes out, in mid-December of this year.

reply

I saw it. I was not impressed.

I was not impressed by the trailer of Spielberg's upcoming reboot/remake of the original 1961 film version of West Side Story, either. However, if we want a truly democratic society, we'll have to realize that, while prominent movie moguls create movies that we may not like, we may have to allow them to do so, and just simply not go to see films that don't appeal to us.
