Series like this shouldn't exist.

This series paints the Turks as evil creatures spawned from hell. The director and/or the writer(s) clearly didn't realize that the Turks were defending their homeland against invaders, they weren't sociopaths who craved English/Australian blood.

This isn't the same thing as hating Nazis of WWII. The Nazis are gone, and the blame ISN'T on the Germans, it's on a group that doesn't exist anymore. (Nazis) While this.. thing is showing nothing but "evil Turks" in it, hence it's pure propaganda.

War is brutal and there are always heroes, innocents and tyrants on each side.

If anyone is interested in REAL history, I suggest you take a look at "The Water Diviner" with Russel Crowe as the protagonist. It comes closest to the real history and also has real, famous Turkish actors in it.

Pathetic fact: This mini series only has 3 Turkish actors in it, and none of them actually live in Turkey. Most likely some low-lives that wanted to make a buck with their knowledge of basic turkish.

I never saw Turks as animals or beasts while I watched the series. I think you get it all wrong.
Actually the few scenes that we see them, everybody can see them as humans like everybody else. With families, friends, relatives and lives left behind.
It was the most pathetic war from political perspective.
Millions died without any reason.
Germans, Austrians, Hungarians, Turks, Americans, British, Anzacs, Greeks, Bulgarians, Russians.
Oh and I am Greek my friend.

Where exactly did it show the turks being evil? I actually thought the Australians were viewed in a slightly more negative light as we see Aussie soldiers shooting Turks trying to surrender in the pilot.

I also clearly remember a scene where a mortally wounded turk offered an Australian soldier water. That's a very humanizing moment. Plus the entire second episode's point was about how the Australians and Turks bonded for a short time to bury their dead. Not exactly evil, I've seen far far worse in other war stuff before.

If any complaint I have about the portrayal of forces is that it was a little light on the British soldier's suffering too, and a few mention and shots of Indian soldiers who suffered equally, was also not really shown. But when it comes to the Turks, I never got a sense that they were evil and I felt sorry for all of the soldiers involved.
