Any more Agatha Christie dramas for 2016?

Now that Partners in Crime is cancelled after just one series, are there any more Agatha Christie dramas planned by BBC for 2016? Any news??

reply

Writer Sarah Phelps is working on a new adaptation of Witness for the Prosecution. I've not seen any casting news yet or details of when it may be broadcast, so it will probably be 2017 before we get to see it.
Sarah Phelps also adapted the recent And Then There Were None.

Nothing else? ITV used to produce a few Agatha Christie dramas each year. I'd love to see novels like Crooked House adapted.

I've not read about any more at the moment. I think the plan was to make more series of Partners of Crime, but after its poor ratings and subsequent axing, the BBC are having to make alternative plans for Agatha Christie adaptations. I too would like to see an adaptation of Crooked House.

I'd still love to see "By the Pricking of My Thumbs" and "Postern of Fate" being made, maybe as two separate TV movies. Pity since there are only four full-length Beresford novels.

As poorly done as these were, I would have watched more.

Witness for the Prosecution will be shown in 2 parts on BBC1 during Christmas 2016.
