...as the version made in the early 1980s which I have on DVD and have recently rewatched. The first thing We noticed, not just with this series but with others is the lack of attention to details. This may seem minor to some, but if you are going to do a period piece, it should be done so to the last detail. The original series did so, this does not!

shareI agree the portrayal of Tommy's character is very unsatisfied comparing to the book, and the first series has many problems. But I don't think the show is as bad as many viewers claimed. And I think it still has the potential to get much better if given a second chance.
