Real opinion divider

It's hilarious how much London Road divides opinions among audiences. I personally love the film for its sheer nerve and audacity, but have friends who can't stand it. The haters might call the film's fans pretentious, pseudo intellectual or whatever, but going by the record of past movies which have been misunderstood or divided audiences, I believe Rufus Norris's superb effort will gain more in stature as time passes.

I just saw it and although I can't say "enjoy" is a word I would use for my reaction, I was very intrigued by it. I sort of snoozed a bit through the first half and as I began to "see" what the film was really doing by using music and the repetition of phrases, I was fascinated by the "character" of the neighborhood and the outsiders, the remaining prostitutes. I probably will watch it again just to take in what I missed.
