James Solomon on film's 10-year journey, visual style

After writing the scripts for "The Conspirator" and "The Bronx is Burning," the first-time director talks about teaming up with Bill Genovese for his first documentary, spending 11 years with the brother of Kitty Genovese to get to the bottom of her notorious murder, as well as why he was inspired to use animation to help tell the story and why the film is best seen with an audience.
