I agree, I thoroughly enjoyed it, it was the best thing on the telly over Christmas !
Having said that I've not read the novels, nor have I seen the 1980s TV series, so I have nothing to compare it with. I've bought the books, so I'll read them and perhaps I'll think differently. But at the moment I think it was superb, au reservoir !
The 80's version was perfection.
