Dumb twist *spoilers obviously*

Really? They were just impostors from a psychiatric hospital? Really that isn't a twist at all because they were always portrayed as not being mentally stable. The grandpa wasn't even that crazy until the final act. Personally I thought the twist would be that when the mother left she killed her sibling by accident hence the relevance of the well. The grandparents would then not be the villains and the mother would be.

SPOILERS obviously ... would any modern sane mom really send her teenage kids to visit their grandparents with no idea, not even a photo, of what the grandparents look like? Or even have the kids ask for some sort of I.D. to know they were meeting the right people?

Ever since "Unbreakable" (to me an exceptional movie) I have been disappointed in what Shyamalan has turned out. The concept of teenagers visiting fake grandparents in itself is a good starting point but the guy just doesn't know how to put a good story together.

Not only dumb, but since the Village the twists in a M Knight movie areviews too easy spotted. And if not then they are the Happening bad.
I think as soon as they were driving by the hospital and the grandpa menations his badge, I said this aren't the real grandparents and they probably killed them.
As far as his crazy actions though, the incontinence and trying to catch the train for the costume party as having the shotgun in his mouth were the clues something was wrong.
