That one scene (spoilers)

I thought this movie was pretty good.... A perfect blend of creepy and fun/funny.

But there's a scene near the end, which i think kinda ruins the vibe of the whole film. When the ol man puts the diaper on the kid's face. i get it... its shocking... its disgusting.... but to me.... poop is like a taboo to the extent that you can't make light of it... particulary when it involves the abuse of a kid. That scene was way to mean-spirited.

I realize, the plot, the kid didn't like germs, and they had to do something with the storyline of the diapers, and all... but still... he could've come up with something better than this.... In fact, even if you have to drop the whole diapers storyline completely.... so be it.

The whole time they got reuninted with their mom at the end, and she's hugging him, i'm thinking, 'yeah, but he's got poop on his face... doesn't she smell it?'

I just thought it was too mean-spirited, and disgusting, in a film which up to that point was a perfect blend of humor and horror.

Still a worthwhile film, and i'll recommend it.... I won't be hyping that part though.
