The reason I think -like all other reality shows-this is fake, is because of Michael's presence in this whole thing. She hates him, yet she is sitting down to lunch with him all of a sudden and telling him she loves him. Also, since when does it take that many days to get keys to an apartment? I have never heard of paying money and then having to wait that long to get the keys in your hands.
shareRenting in New York isn't like renting in other cities. The Board must approve you and I think it was made pretty clear that she is NOT a desirable tenant. No good building wants excessive drugs, partying, and paparazzi out front. You noticed they kept demanding that additional things be signed and additional liability insurance be provided.
shareAs far as her dad goes, no they do not hate each other anymore. She did back in like 2005-2011, but since then they've repaired their relationship. It's still a little rocky, but they have made peace.

Buying a home in New York (and renting for that matter), is a lot different from the process required in Omaha, Nebraska. Not sure about the dad, but it's refreshing that they are working on their relationship.
