How did this make it on network TV?

It's bad 'even' for Fox.
Evidently Steve Carell's involvement somehow gave it legitimacy in the eyes of a Fox executive.
Maybe it's part of a package development deal, seeing how he's also listed as EP for 'I Wanna Marry Harry'.

Bad, just bad.

How could he let his name become attached to this? Riot is slightly less funny than Schindler's List.

I didn't think I'd like it (or want to like it), but watched it purely for Steve Carell and actually found it quite funny. I actually think it's more entertaining than Whose Line, just because it's a bit different and I can't stand the new host on that. This is just a silly, fun summer show - I'm sure some games will repeat but I will keep watching it for now.

I love goofy comedy but this show is as bad as it gets. Just awful.

I think the show has promise, but it needs some big changes. First, is it a competition or just a bunch of comedy sketches? If it's a competition, then where's the scoring. If it's just comedy sketches, where's the humor?

The idea seems to be to put people into odd situations and let them try their best at improvisation. If they're going to do this, then there needs to be more structure to the skit. Some of the characters are very funny, but right now it's just sad watching them try to think of things to say, while the audience sits quietly waiting for an opportunity to laugh.
