Very underrated!

Stalker was fantastic, but where they went wrong is bringing in new cast main members too soon. In a first season of a TV Series they need to keep the main cast as it is and not introduce new people until the second season. With "Stalker" viewers were just getting to know the main characters, then the shows goes and brings in other people near the end, it all became a bit rushed. How are viewers supposed to connect with the main characters when they bring in brand new characters with their own rushed storyline? Why do the makers of this show think the viewers would even care what happens to the new characters when they've just been introduced.

"Stalker" had tons of hype on Twitter when it first came out. i think the fans, the cast and the writers thought the show would last for years, but obviously the majority of viewers didn't like the show, i personally thought it was a clever TV Thriller series and it had the psychological element as well.

This is the risk that is made with TV Shows, they make a TV Series and then it's all up to the viewers. if the show doesn't get enough ratings, it's gone.

They still might! Netflix always adds new and old films and TV Shows everyday.

What I don't understand is why critics trash this show so much. Two years later, and a review of Ransom takes the time to spend a paragraph trashing Stalker AGAIN.

They love to call it "exploitative and ugly", and I've heard them call it misogynistic too.

There are procedurals on that are IMO inccredibly graphic and gross...Stalker meanwhile often didn't even involve a murder, which almost all police procedurals do!

I thought it was an interesting twist on a procedural with above average execution. I'd really like these critics to at least explain their claims about it, because it seems to me they maybe watched the first episode or part of it, maybe we're creeped out by stalking in general, and really didn't give it a fair chance...I mean Criminal Minds (which I would never watch) is worse than that on a weekly basis, and they have no complaints...

I agree. I don't know what the Critics problem with this show was. It makes no sense for them to call it "Misogynistic", the show's bad guys were both male and female and the victims were also male as well as female, it was not biased at all.

You're right about "Criminal Minds", i used to be a fan of that show back when it was more psychological, but over the past few years that show has become more graphic and is just a horror TV series now.

In my book "Stalker" is excellent, it's extremely thrilling and 100% edge of your seat intense, it is scary at times but they didn't go over the top with that, it seems that the critics and the majority of viewers didn't think "Stalker" was dark enough because like you said - there's darker shows that are still on the air.

I never understood that either! There are so many other shows on TV that are far more violent and disturbing than Stalker ever was. I agree that Criminal Minds is way worse!

I completely agree that Stalker was a fantastic TV show! I was devastated when it was cancelled. Although I liked all of the characters (including the new ones) I would have preferred if they had continued to focus on the main characters, especially Beth, instead of introducing new storylines. Beth's storyline with Ray was wrapped up way too quickly after the episode at the cabin, and I would have been interested to see more of how she dealt with everything in the aftermath of what happened. I think it would be hard to just move on so quickly after going through that kind of trauma.
