The best part about this show is...

the fact that in every episode at the end, when he asks if the person being pranked has ever heard of the "Carbonaro Effect", not one person has said yes.

reply

It would be surprising if they did know it, because then they would have recognized him.

I've seen a few rare episodes where some claim to have heard of that and even others where he seemed familiar to someone.

I consider the facial expressions, reactions of the victims as the best part of the program. They're hilarious ! He constantly makes people doubt reality and their own senses.

I’m watching the newer episodes on netflix now and he is taking steps to disguise himself a little bit, wearing hats, wigs, etc.

reply

I've watched a lot of his episodes, even binged on them sometimes for several hours. They've provided lots of hearty belly laughs.

You might also enjoy David Blaine Street Magic. It’s not a hidden camera show and he’s upfront about being a magician but you see the same kind of reactions from people.

reply

Yes, I've watched that show before but it's been awhile now.

I prefer Carbonaro's show precisely because they're unaware they're being duped by a magician. He's very glib and engaging, which is how he draws them in. We see them time and again nodding mechanically in agreement with blank expressions on their faces as if they really understand his line of bs as an explanation. That's part of what makes it so funny.
