I miss traditional animation

I'm sick of entirely CGI style. When it first came about (Toy Story, etc) it was really awesome but now that it's the only thing happening and traditional animated tales are all by extinct, I really miss the old school.

There's just something magical and nostalgic about traditional
animation that you don't get in complete CGI renders.

It's just my opinion. If this movie had been a traditional style, like
the previous had been, I'd probably have been more invested in it.

Each animation format can be good or bad depending on who uses it. However, traditional animation will always be overall better than computer animation. There are so many drawing styles and, therefore, more possibilities for a movie to look good*. Computer animation doesn't have those possibilities. It needs to be detailed and smooth. If you feel inspired by old works and want to achieve a retro look, it'll look terrible.

Stop-motion animation is in between. The designs of the characters and backgrounds have those possibilities but, if the movements don't flow, it won't look realistic enough.

*Examples: THE TRIPLETS OF BELLEVILLE; PERSEPOLIS; THE SECRET OF KELLS; THE ILLUSIONIST; A CAT IN PARIS; CHICO & RITA; ERNEST & CELESTINE; SONG OF THE SEA; BOY AND THE WORLD.
