I'm not a gamer so plead total ignorance here - but I am a long-standing Batman fan. In what Universe do these Arkham games take place? Are they supposedly connected to the Nolan-verse, or the DCAU, or do they have their own Arkham-verse?

Ehhm... These games are part of the Arkham-verse. Asylum, City, origins, Knight plus some comics
