Sure they do... And they obviously pay the 'Amish' kids to do every thing that is in the script each week or no paycheck... So why complain about money on the show ? Cause it's what is written in the script,
scene 13-complain about the cost of food, teeth, etc etc...
If the script called for them to discuss the political situation in Somalia, then we would hear about Somalia's political situation (which would be boring)... This show is about 5% reality and 95% scripted material to present the
producer's view of what young Amish face when they leave the Amish cult...
Wouldn't TLC pay for Abe's teeth since they will be able to make an episode out of it?
Who is to say that the Abe teeth drama is not just scripted, too ??? The 'dentist (extra?)', shows us some X-rays of the poor slob's teeth, but how do we know this is on the level ??? They could be showing us anyone's bad set of teeth just to set up a 'crisis' for the program... or it could be authentic, I take
EVERYTHING presented on this show with a bit of cynicism, after watching Amish Mafia and Alaskan Bush People, I've learned most of what is shown is just BS.... As long as the advertisers pay for advertising and the viewers tune in each week, the producers have no qualms presenting anything they want, next week Mary may learn how to fly or do magic for all we know...
