Shoves meat-eating in your face!

They shove meat-eating in your face, and now you're a so called a man because you kill a deer...

Meat-eaters always says that Vegans/Vegetarians shoves their views "in your face", as if meat-eaters don't do it.

I think you must be trollin'.

And to think it all started with a caveman. Do everyone a favor...do not vote, do not take part in political venues of any kind, and do NOT have any kids.

Look at the OP troll!

Fckwit.

That part made me sick. Yes, they had to kill for food but they didn't have to be so vicious. And killing an animal does not make one a 'man' or 'woman' for that part. When the father gave the youngest children hunting knives it seemed extreme. He was almost glorifying killing animals, as ironically the grandfather was as well with his hunting gear.

The opening scenes of the movie had me thinking it was going to be some kind of Lord of the Flies -- the kids looked feral. But then we discover they're just following their father's extreme survivalist way of life. They weren't really rebellious (until later in any case).

I would have liked to have seen how they all fared after the kids started going to school, whether they could fit in or were isolated from their peers because of their previous upbringing.

And all the pieces matter (The Wire)

Maybe you could invent a more humane way to stalk and kill a deer with a knife. Sheez, where do you people come from?

reply

haven't you heard? these are special snowflakes getting offended and triggered by anything and everything, with constant need of safe spaces to keep them safe from big bad reality 

Yeah, I've heard about it. But I still don't know where these DNA deficient morons came from.

He was almost glorifying killing animals

WTF? He's a hunter gatherer teaching his kids how to freaking survive in the wild. I agree with the other two posters.
Hey, what's going through your pea brain when you go and select your plastic wrapped steak and hot dogs from the supermarket? That those cows and baby pigs were sung to death?

reply

WHat makes you think the OP eats meat at all?.

reply

Yes you are correct. She probably lives on tofu turkeys and fakin bacon.

reply

Yeah, it made me sick as well.

BTW, no human beings "need" to kill animals for food at all.

Not to mention they were doing as an iniciation ritual... and notice it was the male kid becoming a "man", and not a girl becoming a woman. It's glorifying violence.

reply

"no human beings "need" to kill animals for food at all."

So Inuits don't need whale meat to survive (over 80% of their nutritional intake is animal protein & fat). Yanamame don't need small game to survive, and those who live off the wilderness can do just fine eating leaves & berries w/o dying. Oh, i get it -- eating meat is "evil." Brilliant.

Meanwhile, men & women are different whether you like it or not, and this becomes glaring in a state of nature. It's not glorifying anything -- it's preparing a man for survival and provision. You're damn right a boy would be initiated in a rite of passage as a man, according to his natural attributes. That's called reality. Like it, or lump it.

Another, couch pampered, soft-arse with zero knowledge of the real world. Go play your video games, Skippy. Your microwave din-din is almost ready.

reply

Humans (without access to high / modern technology) need to kill animals for food (or at least animal products) or they will die.

Hence, it is necessary.

reply

You can't possibly be that dumb. You simply cannot survive in the wild eating berries w/o eating meat & that's a fact. Nothing is being shoved in anyone's face here -- depictions of hunting and eating meat is not equivalent to "shoving meat eating in your face."

In the Kung Fu TV series, Cain (a Shaolin monk) was a vegan. There was even dialogue about not eating meat. Was that "shoving veganism in people's faces?" No, of course not, bc it was in keeping with the character (Shaolin monks are vegetarians) and plot, as is the case with this movie.

The only one shoving anything in anyone's faces, is YOU -- and your PETA, vegan/vegetarian whining bc there was hunting and eating of meat in a movie, about a guy who chose to live off the wild. Boo-hoo. Dry your tears with a leaf of dry lettuce, then eat it. Stop watching movies with hunting and meat-eating in it, while you're at it, that way you won't be "offended."

reply

Totally, trying to associate savage living with meat eating...when the typical ethicalist, off-the-grid adventuror would absolutely be vegan....so pathetic....

Oh what a day. What a lovely day!

reply

I actually turned the movie off because of all the gruesome slit-open animal shots at the beginning. No thanks!
