Loved it.

Finally got to see this movie last night and having waited ages for it, it certainly didn't disappoint, I'm really looking forward to seeing it again.

Some people have said that the movie felt like it didn't know what it wanted to be, a comedy or a drama but that's life isn't it? It's not all comedy and it's not all drama, it's a mix and I felt that this movie did a great job at depicting that.

People have said that this felt the first time Tina Fey was playing a character and not playing some version of Tina Fey and I would agree with that, I'm a huge fan of Tina and I'm glad to see that she is trying to stretch herself, performance wise, she really played the character in WTF and I don't think it's a coincidence that most people are agreeing that this is her best performance to date. I would love to petition for Robert Carlock to write all of Tina's movie characters from here on out, I think he's the only person that writes better for Tina than Tina does herself.

My favorite thing about the movie was the relationships between Kim and various other characters, specifically, Fahim, Tanya and Ian. They all just worked really well together imo.

As for the controversy around the casting of Christopher Abbot and Alfred Molina as two Afghan characters (yes, I know, I'm white, I'm not entitled to an opinion about it), well, meh, both actors did a great job with the characters. I had read a lot of criticism about Molina in particular, people saying he was too ott, to cartoonish so going in to the movie, I was expecting that but I was pleasantly surprised to find that wasn't really the case, yes, the character was a little ott but not excessively imo. As for Abbot, I thought he was fantastic and conveyed a lot of emotion without even having to say much.

All in all, I thought everyone did a great job and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Tina will continue to branch out in to the more serious side of acting.
