My step sons turning 12 years old in a couple days, (5ft 2 inch, handsome white Christian boy) i was wondering if this movie would be appropriate to take him to. YES! I'm aware that it's an R-rated comedy. & YES! I'm expecting some raunchy language. but for people who have seen this, would u reccomend a 12 yr old boy seeing this with his new guardian?
shareI probably would not recommend it. I don't know your guys relationship or what you feel should be censored for him but there was quite a bit more than raunchy language. There were a lot of sexual talk/scenes as well as drugs & alcohol. Im no prude saying what's right or wrong to watch but I would probably watch something like Zootopia or Allegiant with a 12 year old boy. Hope that helps, you can read the parent's guide if you want to see the kind of material in the movie. It was a very good movie though. All violence and other r rated stuff aside, I do think it'd be boring for a 12 year old boy. I enjoyed it but I'm a 20 year old woman so it was aimed more towards me and middle aged audiences.

shareAbsolutely not. The war part doesn't have much violence, but there's a LOT of cursing and sexual moments. Its rated R for a reason. Grownups only.

I came to this post for the exact same reason. If I should take my 12 year old grandson. The answer is no and I appreciate the poster who gave me two other options of what would be appropriate. That person posted thoughtfully and I for one applaud someone who uses this board in a good way. To share thoughts and information.
