The blue prison *spoiler*

Before watching the movie i was under the impression that it would be a war movie with some comedy in it, but to be honest it turn out to be much much better in my opinion, maybe because i live in the middle east and i get how shi*ty the situation is for women in a countries like Afghanistan or Saudi Arabia or Sudan.. etc
Of course you notice how its all about sex in there! and women are just subject to achieve it - most of the time:D- so they cover them up and the worse is when you see a woman do the deed for men and insults another for behaving in the wrong way or not covering her hair up or anything else they are not permitted to do under sharia law!
Fahim said to kim-after she said she's not being noticed- "You are in the blue prison now" and that got me to stop and smile a bit because for me it's a very accurate description for the whole culture of restrictions, darkness and death and that's way i'm fascinated with the story and the atmosphere of the whole movie.
Of course its not as bad in my country as in Afghanistan, but for my understanding Afghanistan was once a normal country just like Egypt and it got fu**ed up up with war and Taliban! so i was so scared because of how easy it could happen to us with *ISIS* right next to us and the Muslim Brotherhood hiding in our own beds!
What i love about this movie is how real it is, even if the obvious message isn't about the lives of middle eastern woman, but i can see it clearly form my own perspective , and to be honest i was so emotional at the end when she was saying good by to Fahim.
when i used to say goodbye to my late brother sometimes i would be a bit conscious to kiss and hug him if we are on the street, its the same with my men friends in some places in Egypt, i know its not the same but i fully understand how hard its to not be able to do the simple little act of showing your emotion to a friend or a lover.
I was surprised by the low rating, because for me this was a really good movie for all the reason i wrote about in here and more.

*by the way Isishttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isis is an Egyptian goddess and the accurate name is Daesh or Daash

Totally agree with what you're saying. All through the movie, there was an underlying message about how everybody has to behave over there, we see more about how women have to behave because the story is told through Kim's eyes so we get more of a women's perspective but I also took from the movie, how the men of the country are also expected to behave.

I personally thought the movie had a very powerful message about how everyone is expected to behave in Afghanistan (and surrounding countries)
