This is a good movie --- not great --- but good. I was entertained. I thought Tina Fey was terrific.
But I do agree, it should not have been marketed as a comedy. It is a drama with a few laughs. Not a comedy with little drama.
I agree with all of that. Tina was really good and her character was very likeable, the other main characters were really good, good looking film and the location they chose blew me away when I saw it was filmed in ABQ. Not a great film, and terrible trailer for it because it's definitely not a comedy, but I enjoyed it and watched it twice.

I can see why people were annoyed if they saw the trailer first. I saw this without knowing anything about it except that it was about a war correspondent in Afghanistan so I wasnt misled by the misdirection of the trailer. I didnt even know Tina Fey was in it. I saw the trailer after seeing the movie and wondered what on earth they were thinking.
I'd like to see her in more serious roles. I really liked her in this.
I never saw the trailer. At the time I wrote this post, I sill haven't seen it.
But I read reviews on the Redbox website and here at IMDb. They were all over the place. Some said great. Some said terrible. And some said okay. I did read reviews that were upset it was not a comedy. And some that were upset that the trailer was misleading. So, I rented it with an open mind.
I was pleasantly surprised. I thought it was good. I wasn't expecting a comedy (thanks to the reviews). I still haven't seen the trailer.
It's a movie written by smart people for smart people, people who are in stress and how they deal with it.
I thought it was going to be a comedy too as that's how it was presented in the trailer, but it was refreshing. It wasn't about the actual War itself but about how people interact while there is a war going on. Trying to find your place in war; it showed normal life. The soldier who lost his leg still had a positive attitude after everything happened. Despite the setbacks she had, the character of Tina Fey seemed content at the end. And it was nice to see such a beautiful relationship between her and the interpreter
