Tina don't you dare to do this again!!!!

I watched the film thinking this would be another Tina Fey comedy. I love Tina's comedies and the trailer was so misleading. I thought I was gonna laugh for a while and maybe if I got lucky I could see Margot Robbie naked.

But hell no. This was a poor written drama, with no story, no plot, no nothing. Obviously there weren't any laughs, not even mild ones. This was a really poor movie.

Tina please don't write dramas anymore. You tried, you explored it, you failed. Now let's get back to humor 30 Rock style! please!

1. She doesn't HAVE to only stick to doing comedy just because that's what YOU like to see her doing.

2. She didn't write this movie.

3. There WERE laughs, you just didn't notice them because you were sulking at the fact that it wasn't a rip roaring, hilarious, laugh a minute, out and out comedy.

The only thing you said that actually rings true is that the trailer was misleading but just because it wasn't exactly what you expected, doesn't make it garbage. It was a great movie.

^ Everything this person said.

This movie was sooooo much better than Sisters. I hope she continues to do more like this.

reply

I could not agree more.

reply

I enjoyed seeing her in something more serious. I liked it better than most of the comedies. I hope she does more.

reply

Me too.
I thought it was a great movie.

reply

"This movie was sooooo much better than Sisters."

Absolutely. I barely even remember Sisters. I've liked almost everything else Tina Fey has ever done.

Well, to be fair none of her previous films have really set the world on fire. This one is no different. Her career as a comedy writer is still as sharp and relevant as ever. Nothing much has changed.

Anyone here mentions Hotel California dies before the first line clears his lips.

OMG awful movie, so loud you can't hear anything anyone was saying. just awful all the way round

I'm sorry to say, we turned it off after 30 minutes. It was so hard to hear the dialogue. I may re-rent it in the future, Ms. Fey is so talented, but this one just didn't grab us.

I also expected a Tina Fey comedy. But, the movie was already rolling and it already had English subtitles turned on, so I continued watching it. Before long I was fully engrossed in the story and was enjoying Tina Fey acting on someone else's, mostly serious, script.

Try grabbing it again from your favorite subscription service, and turn on the subtitling. You may enjoy the movie better.

as a fan of tina fey's TV work and earlier movies I'm glad to share your point of view. I'm 12 minutes in and think it's utter crap hence my being here; in the hopes that not everyone has such poor taste that they think this passes as good.

if you don't have anything nice to say ...you're probably a butthole

reply

I saw the whole movie, not just 12 minutes, and thought it was good.

Your signature is fascinating.

reply

Right?!! I'm tired of people not watching an entire movie before they give their two cents. Every time they do its idiotic, no one cares what your 15 minute experience was oh...and here's your change from those two cents of yours!

reply

This was an excellent movie and Tina Fey did excellent in it. Just because it's not your type of movie doesn't mean it's a bad movie. Grow up.

reply

Well, we thought it was an excellent movie. I can't say I'm a fan of Tina Fey comedies, but it was the best movie we've watched in several months. Very lively.

reply

We watched a different movie, I think.
