...killed Oz Turner so early on!

I remember the actor from The Dark Knight and Prisoners, he really should have been given more of a role here.

Yeah, I thought the show might use this character a bit more, too, but I think that (just as in the book) he's only in the story to give a brief hint about the nature of the Intruders, and some clues to how they do what they do. Anything more and it might give away too much.

But I really was surprised his character appeared in the first episode...in the book he isn't introduced until after Whelan starts his investigation and begins uncovering what's really going on.

But then again, as a TV series there's no way they'd do the slow build up of tension like the novel did--there's already enough ADHD meatheads on here bitching about the first episode being boring.

i didn't hate eps 1 and 2 but the fact James's character just keeps constantly killing everyone (including interesting characters) got on my nerves big time.
