Nikola Tesla as one of Reverti

Reverti we've seen in the show were pretty much useless money piling businessman, and petty criminals (Marcus aside), which I personally found both annoying and appropriate - annoying cause I'd like to think if I got to live forever, I'd prefer gathering knowledge to riches, and appropriate cause I do believe most people would prefer money over knowledge.

With that in mind Edison seems far better fit to be member of reverti than Tesla. Tesla was unparalleled genius who cared little for money, and even worse, Edison couldn't stand the guy, cause Edison was inferior in every way to Tesla. Tesla was what Edison was trying to make himself appear as.

But now apparently Tesla was reverti, suggesting not everyone among reverti is shallow - then why is Tesla so isolated? If asked who was greatest scientist ever, if you've heard about Tesla you'd say Tesla. Everyone else mostly came up with one or two things, Tesla pretty much singlehandedly changed the world - and there's no one else like that. If he was reverti, than he'd be back by now, and who knows, we may even have teleports by now. Also, it's hard to imagine that he would be the only one with that sort of appetite, yet Tesla is by far the only one who seemed to posses such insight into ways of the world. Clearly all other reverti decided not to bring him back then.

But if they are capable of making remarkable scientific advances, wouldn't they develop cloning process by now? They could have bodies all to them selves, not having to fight with the other soul, not having to bother with annoying family members, and so on...

I'd say it's highly debatable that Tesla was the greatest scientist ever. I know the internet has been enjoying a Tesla renaissance lately, The Oatmeal did that whole long cartoon for people that can't handle actually reading textbooks, and David Bowie portrayed a fantasy version of him in The Prestige that seems to have a lot of people confused about what's real and what's not, but there are a lot of important scientists (some of them actually predating the modern concept of science) in history. Schweitzer, Galileo, Feynman, Curie, Hawking, Malthus, Copernicus, Darwin, Newton, Einstein, Bohr, Heisenberg, just to start. He might be the greatest scientist in the pioneering of electrical engineering and experimentation, I could possibly go with that.

That Reverti archives, I assume there must be other archives around the world, had a lot of books with names on them. Maybe Galileo became Tesla or Hawking, etc...

The fact that Tesla's book was still in the library indicates to me that he's still 'on the bench'. If he were alive, he'd have his book.

In the book, the supposition is that anyone who enters this life with more knowledge than could normally be expected is likely a reverti, having begun their learning in a previous life. That includes child prodigies, musical talents, tech/science superbrains etc., as well as the financially advanced.

That's a good one,... in fact it suddenly sounds like this book/show are onto something.

Actually, all these scientists you've named are known for one thing (save for Newton) and therefore don't compare to Tesla in any way.

And I find your idea that I needed oatmeal and Bowie to tell me about Tesla insulting.

Well, I graciously apologize. I think it was clear I was talking about the internet populace in general. I'm sure you are a learned person with many degrees.

All of the people whose books Jack found in the library were real people. Marshall Ney, Ronald Reagan, etc. I kind of didn't like that either. All of the Reverti who we've met so far have been non famous people. Bix Beiderbecke was the only real character they had on the show.

But my no prize is that maybe these books don't necessarily represent actual Reverti. Maybe they prepared these books in case they ever wanted to bring back Nikola Tesla or Ronald Reagan or Marshall Ney.

Unless Alpert's covered in bacon grease, I don't think Hugo can track anything.

If you are resurrected in your clone you will still have to fight with the soul (or spirit, conscience, or whatever) of your clone. Your clone is not you, it's just your genetic copy - with 0% of the mimids, memories and environmental influences which made you you. Presumably your clone would be more willing to back down than any other dude, but that's not guaranteed; he might want to keep his individuality, memories etc intact and fight you.

If you rather meant clone yourself to infinity without the resurrection / qui reverti activation part, then your clone(s) will most surely not be you. No clone carries the memories of its host. It would be like replacing your old hard drive with a new one that's exactly the same model with exact specs but none of the bytes of the original; these bytes were forever lost (we still do not know if there is such a thing as genetic memory and if there is if it's possible to be accessed by a successor or clone of ours)
