Excluding LGBT people is homophobic

When will the show stop pandering to homophobes and include LGBT people. I'm not watching until there are gay men included.

Shows like this just reinforce homophobia. You are part of the problem. You are why 49 people got killed in Orlando.

Oh Jesus stop. Gay people are about 5% of the population. Stop whining and get real. The demographic is not there for people to be interested in a show about gay people dating. I'm gay, and I'm not interested in it. Go clutch your pearls somewhere else. There aren't any people with one arm on the show--Oh, heavens, how offensive to the disabled......and no trans people! OMG, NO TRANS PEOPLE!!!! Orlando was a crazy man with a gun; stop your hysteria and trying to make it all about you. You are the reason people mock gay people. I've read your other posts. You have a gay chip on your shoulder the size of the Stonewall Inn.

So every single show has to include gays, or else it is homophobic? Wow that is crazy! This is a sh!tty show, but why does it need gay people?

Someone woke up on the wrong side of the social justice warrior bed this morning!

reply

Did it every occur to you that maybe gay people don't want to be on the show?
Not everyone is a homophobe because they don't include gays, or racist if they don't include blacks. Get over yourself.

You do realize that there is no gay Bachelor or lesbian Bachelorette, right? Are you going to stop watching those shows, too? Stop the bleeding and, no, shows like this are *not* why 49 innocent lives were killed in Orlando; the cause was an angry and prejudice *beep* who didn't need a gun in his hands since he was clearly a ticking time bomb.

You hear that? Hear that tone you're using? That's penis repellent right there!

But you aren't thinking this through. Including one or two 'token' gays on the show would muddy the waters a lot. Who would they go out on dates with? If they were paired with folks of the opposite sex, that would only confuse matters. If they were set up with same-sex dates, the others would have be totally OK with same-sex dating. Basically, it would have to be an all-gay / bi cast, in order for the dynamics to work. The potential audience for such a show would be far smaller than the current one. So there you have it - it's less a matter of being 'P.C.', but simple ratings and demographics.

Not everything is for LGBT people.

On the 8/31, VH1 promoted a new dating show "Prince Charming" Bunch of guys.

To the OP, your prayers have been answered.

I think you are really just trolling here, but the only shred of credibility to your argument is the geriatric guy from earlier this season. Like a gay person dating a straight person, that old guy had a near zero shot at any serious shot; it was purely for titillation and shock value. The biggest difference is that there are still a fair amount of homophobic people out there still turned off by seeing it, at least in the context of two men. It all boils down to ratings really and they do not want to alienate the audience. I think it was very brave and laudable of them to pick a black man as the main dater this season actually. There are gay exclusive dating shows and channels on cable, so it is not like you cannot seek out your interests anyway.

As an aside, I have watched some of the late night "Skinamax" fare and while they are comfortable showing softcore, hetero sex and even homosexual sex (between women), they are still not in the business of showing homosexual male relationships, let alone sex. And the last two shows I have seen have had a gay male character as part of the main cast! I guess these characters were asexual and were not interested in sex despite that being the focus of the show and all their friends having it any chance they got, LOL. It's sad and ridiculous but it is what it is.

@free-79433
I think there actually may have already been a trans on the show if you remember Elissa from last season, lol. Someone even made a thread about it at the time.
