Too many unbelievable twists and escapes

The story started really well but the level of idiocy attributed to every character is annoying. She doesn't make the connection between what happened and her commander. He doesn't protect himself when he is committing a criminal act. The reporters son has no integrity and is soooooo trusting, for an anti -govt protester. What could have been an excellent programme is just frustrating.
