I saw an old movie where two Japanese actors, played Chinese, White Slavers. The only reason why I knew that was because I looked up the actors' bio's, and saw that. But, watching the movie that was something I wouldn't have picked up on. I don't think that there were too many Chinese American actors around then, so, they couldn't be too choosy. I think in this situation it's the same thing, not enough Chinese American actors, so they use Koreans.

I don't know. in Northern Virgina the locals hear it a lot. By the way, do immigrants realize that although we Americans as the original poster put it might smile or ignore the conversations totally in their tongue. Many of us are might pissed off at their rudeness for not switching to English--even to practice with kids and uncles. The old country is gone. if it weren't for jet fuel and planes, they'd never ever see it or relatives again. It was abandoned. one's back turned to the old country. Fled. Ran away from it. rather than stay and help. So speak English even bad English and improve. speaking all foreign is so incredibly offensive. For tourists no, for residents who've been here awhile rude. practice practice practice.
