Nas was surprisingly boring

I love Illmatic and this documentary is pretty good, but I was surprised how boring and flat Nas is.
How can someone whose lyrics are so emotional and intelligent be so unemotional and monotone when speaking.
Compared to interviews with someone like KRS-1, DJ Premier, Busta Rhymes, Sadat X etc, Nas doesn't have a lot to say for himself. He seemed to struggle to say anything interesting, almost shy. Did anyone else feel this?

I felt he was refreshingly humble and unpretentious, aware of the ways in which he was fortunate, and constantly giving credit to others. No, he wasn't flashy in his style, but I didn't find that boring; I found it mature.
