So Zara's a lesbian now?

When did that happen? I think I've seen every episode, and I recall in the first episode she was breaking up with a boyfriend. Of course, she could have broken up with him because she realized she needed to "switch teams;" or she could have discovered her lesbianism later on; or she could just be doing "Anne Heche" type experimentation. But it seemed sort of sudden and not set up.

Not that there's anything wrong with it, of course.

Yeah that really came out of nowhere. They never hinted at her being gay or bi before this episode. All they discussed were her commitment issues.

Yeah...I felt the same way.

If you're not taking any steps forward, you're not moving at all.

That was the last episode, EVER. They were just trying to make it as stupid as possible because they had no chance at a renewal.

reply

You know these shows were filmed months ago and sat on the shelf? So they didn't know anything about if anyone would ever see them, much less renewal so that had no factor in this particular episode.

Maybe they figured if they were getting cancelled, throw in some stuff.

Nice Seinfeld reference, btw!

I figured bisexual. Sexuality is not necessarily an either/or proposition.

reply

Yes. And it tells you a lot about our Heteronormative society that because her sexuality wasn't ever mentioned, it's just assumed that she is straight. I like the fact that there was never a big 'I'm gay!' moment in the show, and none of the other Loners showed any surprise when they got to the gay bar.

I assumed she was straight because in the first episode she was shown having been involved with, you know, a guy. No guarantee of course, but Occam's Razor . . .

Stosh did. The camera focused on him not just realizing he wouldn't be pulling, but his friend was into women.

reply

I saw the first two episodes and then skipped to the finale. I do remember her being somewhat 'open' to an extent.

Is every hot city dwelling cliche artist chick a lesbian? It comes with the package. I thought the storyline was fine.
