I could barely stomach these three people. Their stupidity so overwhelmed anything that 'might' have redeemed this movie. They lock themselves in the rooms but not their sleepwalking friend? (Yeah, the door opened out; I heard that.) A mirror backstory might've helped also but I doubt it. The movie looked good anyway.

As you acknowledge, the door opened inside, so they couldn’t lock their friend in the room. I also think their fear played a role, as the friend had a knife. They were worried he might hurt them while sleepwalking, so their main concern was to save themselves. Hence, they locked themselves in that room while leaving him there.
