Not only the police...

Thier roommate was trying to kill them, reported not being well- headaches, can't see, whatever, and they don't think about contacting a doctor? I don't know about in the UK, but the first thing in the States to do would be to call for an MHA- Mental Hygiene Arrest to get evaluated! Sorry, not a big one, but just annoyed me. Yea, just lock yourself in the bedroom instead...

reply

oh also, stab yourself but don't go to the hospital either. Because that is only what normal people do

reply

Totally agree...even for a horror, this one totally stretched the bounds. I actually laughed when he went blind and they just tucked him up in bed (I'm Scottish and even we wouldn't do that!) We also wouldn't treat wounds with toilet paper or not report someone who had gone missing.

reply

Glad I'm not the only one thinking these things.

reply

I am glad I am not the only one that thought these thing. Another is none of the characters seemed to have any visible means of financial (jobs) or outside emotional support (other friends or relatives). Another why didn't the guys share a room if for ethical reasons the girl did not want to share a room with her boyfriend. Odd.

reply

Yeah, the back story of these kids is pretty dumb. I mean, the flat was pretty cool and no way students would be able to afford it. It looks like when someone goes blind, all you have to do is tuck them in. No wonder the Americans think the NHS is s#!t.

She didn't stab herself. Matt scratched her with his weird demon nails. She was holding a knife either as protection or "Matt" put it in her hand to make it seem like self harm. Noone in the film stabbed themselves.

reply

Yeah, that was all really glaring. A lot of horror movies depend upon the characters' stupidity, but this one took it to a degree that was just painful. I still watched to the end, because my tolerance for bad movies is pretty high and I wanted to see how it wound up, but it was sooo bad. It's almost a parody, and maybe it should've been.

"You gotta hand it to pervs, man. They don't accept mediocrity."

I didn't mind them not going to the police as frankly it is still their best friend/boyfriend. That said they acted like proper idiots the whole movie whining about him and hiding in the barricaded room every night.

Weren't they obviously in the middle of a city? Either get him help or get yourself out of there, but don't just whimper like you are in the middle of the woods without any options.

reply

Add to the fact the one guy seems an A/V nerd, but he couldn't use his laptop to get the feed from either camera didn't make much sense to me either.
