Just watched it.

Many people know that the movie "Horse Sense" is my most despised Disney Channel movie of all-time and I have always considered that the worst...until now. I wasn't expecting much from this since the trailer and commercials didn't look very good but I sure wasn't expecting something THIS bad. Seriously, I feel bad for Zendya now. She got one of the worst scripts in Disney Channel history and not even the best actress on Shake It Up could make awful dialogue tolerable. The whole movie is wrapped around in a cheesy feminism bubble with it's "OMG I WILL MAKE BOYS ACT LIKE GENTLEMEN BECAUSE THEY SIMPLY ANNOY ME." plot and that's not even the worst part. The acting is simply atrocious from everyone. Chanelle Peloso who plays Rachel is one of the most annoying characters put in a DCOM and her voice is almost ear-piercing. Spencer Boldman plays the cheesy type-cast "good looking guy" who's only job is to make 12 year old girls and boys get excited when he's on screen. He has the expression and depth of a wooden slate. Zendya wasn't as bad as everyone who I mentioned but at least put in a tiny bit of effort with the script she was given. Overall, this movie was stupid, unfunny, atrocious, and just all around poor in every regard - acting, script, jokes, and plot.

2/10 because Zendya at least tried.

I watched the beginning sequence & then skipped through different parts of the movie. This is going to be the first time that I skip viewing a DCOM. It was extremely cliche & the concept was very feminine.

Zendaya & Spencer Boldman were completely awkward with each other. I know that's what they seemed to be going for (since Boldman's character wasn't the most romantic type of guy), but they have ZERO chemistry.

Definitely going to tune into GMW afterwards, and you guys are right: ZAPPED is the one that needs a lead-in

Spencer & Zendaya's chemistry was SORT OF there...but seriously don't even know who Spencer Boldman IS lol! i only watched for Adam Dimarco (who plays Zendaya's older bro in the movie) I thought ADAM was going to be Zendaya's love interest actually haha my bad xD

ANYWAYS, i didn't believe Spencer's cool mysterious boy type they were trying to make him. He looked too perfect & dressed up to even be real.
And why must they over dress & glamorize Disney girls now? It makes me feel like i can't even relate to them anymore!? It's like they have to have perfect hair & perfect clothes & they expect me to RELATE to this character? I just can't deal with the new disney. I'm out

I guess it doesn't matter then that Bella wasn't available.

You all do realize that this is a DISNEY MOVIE right? They're known for their super cheese, extreme clichés, and stereotypes personified by like 50. Compared to some others I have seen this one isn't that bad, it had it's funny moments and had an underlining story about kids not actually needing their cell phones, despite popular belief. It was a great movie for the age range it was gearing towards and kept the romance to a minimum. No, it wasn't for the best, do you honestly think most thirteen year old girls are sitting there thinking about how the script could have been better? No, not really. They're not thinking about the random ass 18-30 year olds that decided to watch a Disney movie that night.

You're right.
This is a Disney movie so no wonder it's laden with sexism against males given their forced female empowerment by making males look bad current agenda

I'm getting the sense that you have something against Spencer Boldman. Makes it kind of hard for your review to be unbiased.

As someone who didn't watch Spencer or Zendaya's shows I thought they were both pretty good. I genuinely enjoyed their chemistry. Spencer seemed like a good actor, actually made me very interested in seeing what else he has done.

Were the boys over the top ridiculous? Yes. I also feel like the ratio of girls to boys and all the cliques they had to be superfluous.

But I thought the family stuff was done really well and I would probably watch it again.

Zendaya looked so bored in her role. Every line she said was like she was reading the back of a cereal box. i think she just did this for the money.

I got that vibe from her too. She gets all the bad DCOM's lol
