Take a shower

Are these Dutch people supposed to come off as being cool? Everyone in the film looked like they were in desperate need of a shower and what's with the cigarettes? Was it necessary to show the men smoking 50 times in the first 5 minutes of the film? I'm a smoker too and I still thought it was overkill. We get it - they smoke!! There's no need to show it 5000 times! I think the director of this has a really stupid vision and his immaturity really comes through
