Amazing how little it takes

We have seen so many war dramas, most of them with obsesive use of firearms and monster explosion! We just find it mildly entertaining.

And then a movie like this comes along. It shows war from a very light perspective. Very few lives lost, and nothing really spectacular happening.

And wow! I will never forget this one! What it shows really happened! And I feel the pain of war! Even on this small scale! Maybe because its focus is so banal it hits so deep? Makes me hate war even more.

Indeed, this is quite the gem of a movie. I was to put it frank, blown away, by its brilliance since my first viewing. It truly captures the despair of the soldiers. Deep, without being preachy. No silly romances or ulterior motives either.

A+, across all the board, wholly recommended.

not really a war when a one side has no interest in defending itself, my morning commute involves more serious combatants

It was a brief armed conflict, but an armed conflict never the less, and the most common word for that is "war".

Good luck with your morning transport conflicts in the future! :-D
