Excellent, people stop acting like experts !

Yea, it was very entertaining and the battle scenes are great. Not to mention the lead is on of my favorite actors from films like Oldboy original) and lady vengeance. More known in America as the crime boss from Lucy.
Anyway I'm king of sick of people saying it's not true and embellished and what not. It's no more fantasy than most films claiming to be entirely true in Hollywood films and other foreign ones. This movie is set in the mid 1500s. That being said the film would be a bit more legend than anything else.
I watched it for its great battle scenes and especially the final naval battle . It's really something to watch !!! . I don't know about many people but I'm a huge fan of Korean cinema, and believe that it is producing some of the best foreign films out there of all genres. Netflix is a huge reason for this. There are so many great Korean films to choose from. Just type in the main character whom plays the Admiral and watch Oldboy and Sympathy vengeance and sympathy for lady vengeance as well as some others and you will be rocked by his performances .
Thoroughly enjoyed Admiral, and people need to stop acting like they are scholars on IMDB about 15th century Naval wars between these countries and just watch a good movie for what it is. Way to many wannabe experts that knit pick nonsense that they don't know about for sure anyways lol.

Probably those who lauded Gladiator (2000) for its historical accuracy? It is a long film and loose account(s) IMO of a naval battle filled with nuance and suppositions, however the theatrical exhibition was nothing short of eye candy for aficionados of this genre. The only issue perhaps to be had was the voice-over in the English version.

Yet, it was amusing to hear the voice of a young man, perhaps from Redondo Beach, CA, coming from middle aged warrior?

At any rate with subjectivity aside it IMO is a fine work of cinematic art ...But what was anyone expecting? Enter The Dragon (1973) on sampans?
